Your role:

As Financial Controller for Poland, based in Katowice, you will play a key role in ensuring strong financial control, governance, and high-quality reporting across the entity.

Reporting to the Regional Controller, you will oversee end-to-end financial control activities, including accounting, statutory reporting, audit, compliance, and overhead management. You will act as a trusted partner to the business – safeguarding financial integrity while providing clear insights to support decision-making.

This is a broad and visible role combining technical expertise, operational discipline, and stakeholder management in a dynamic environment with exposure beyond Poland.

 

Your key responsibilities:

Financial Control & Reporting

  • Own the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes for the Polish entity
  • Ensure accurate, timely financial reporting aligned with IFRS, local GAAP, and group requirements
  • Maintain strong balance sheet governance, including reconciliations and review controls
  • Drive consistency across statutory, management, and group reporting

Statutory, Compliance & Audit

  • Lead statutory reporting and ensure compliance with local regulations
  • Manage external audits and ensure smooth, timely delivery
  • Oversee tax compliance (CIT, VAT, etc.) in collaboration with tax teams and advisors
  • Monitor regulatory changes and assess their impact

Business Support & Cost Control

  • Deliver clear monthly reporting with analysis, commentary, and actionable insights
  • Provide visibility on performance, risks, and opportunities to the Regional Controller
  • Own oversight of overhead spend and drive cost discipline
  • Partner with stakeholders to manage budgets and identify efficiency opportunities

Process Improvement & Operations

  • Continuously improve finance processes, controls, and reporting quality
  • Collaborate with shared service centres and regional teams to standardise ways of working
  • Support systems, automation, and process optimisation initiatives

Stakeholder Management

  • Act as a key finance partner to local teams and regional finance leadership
  • Work closely with the Regional Controller on priorities across reporting, controls, and governance
  • Coordinate with auditors, tax advisors, and external stakeholders
  • Build strong relationships across finance and non-finance teams

 

What we are looking for:

  • ~10+ years of finance experience (controlling, reporting, audit); strong candidates with slightly less experience will also be considered
  • Strong expertise in financial accounting, statutory reporting, and financial controls
  • Good knowledge of IFRS and local GAAP
  • Experience in multinational environments; FMCG is an advantage but not required
  • Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and ownership of outcomes
  • Experience managing budgets, overheads, and cost control
  • Ability to operate independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including with senior stakeholders
  • Proactive, pragmatic, and solutions-oriented approach
