Global Material Master Data Steward & Analyst (M/F)

Your role:

The Data Steward & Analyst for Lipton Teas bridges operational execution with data-driven insights. The role supports decision-making and process optimization by combining hands-on master data operations with analytical work.

As part of the MDM Global team, the role works closely with MDM Specialists and Data Owners (Sales, Supply Chain Planning, Quality, and Finance) to define standards and build data maturity across the organization, using metadata and data quality tools.

This position is designed as a stepping stone toward a fully reporting- and data-focused role, with a progressive shift toward advanced reporting and data insights.

Core Tasks & Responsibilities

Data Analyst (60%)

• Maintain data quality and compliance with security policies, including KPI monitoring.
• Own data definitions, standards, and metadata alignment.
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability across systems.
• Apply strong understanding of data and business context to solve data-related challenges and support better decision-making.
• Collaborate closely with MDM Specialists and Data Owners to meet business needs.
• Work with SAP DQM (Data Quality Module) on rule implementation, data mining, and evaluation.
• Use the metadata platform Alation to increase business awareness of Lipton’s data assets.
• Analyze and interpret data to derive actionable insights.
• Create reports and visualizations and communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Support documentation of supply chain master data policies and procedures.

Operations (40%)

• Create and enrich material master data for all material types based on input from data requestors.
• Ensure delivery of high-quality master data that meets internal and external customer requirements and global standards.
• Build and maintain a database of required inputs for material master data creation in collaboration with local business teams.
• Support the master data creation process to ensure timely and complete delivery.

Additional Responsibilities

• Provide oversight and guidance for master data governance activities, including approval, escalation, and alignment with global standards.
• Ensure effective execution of control requirements, including audit and compliance.
• Contribute to master data lifecycle management with a focus on quality, consistency, and transparency.
• Support resolution of critical data quality issues and maintain up-to-date governance documentation.
• Work closely with Data Owners, Business Owners, and IT to ensure clear role alignment and assess the business impact of master data changes.

What we are looking for:

Skills & Experience

• 3+ years of experience with product master data and/or enterprise systems such as SAP (S/4HANA), MDG, PLM, Ariba, and related integrations.
• 3+ years of experience in a large, international, and complex business environment, supporting multiple businesses.
• Bachelor’s degree in logistics, engineering, computer science, or a related field, or strong affinity with these areas.
• Solid understanding of supply chain processes and the impact of master data on execution and outcomes.
• General understanding of data governance, data quality, and metadata concepts.
• Knowledge of supply chain master data, especially products, materials, BOMs, and location-specific data across product lifecycle, R&D, planning, manufacturing, quality, and logistics.
• Understanding of related functions such as Marketing, Sales, and Finance, and enterprise structures.
• International experience and ability to work effectively across cultures.

Competencies

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Advanced experience with SAP (preferably S/4HANA), MDG, and PLM.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Well organized, able to prioritize effectively.
• Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
• High attention to detail.
• Customer-service mindset with the ability to work with diverse stakeholders.
• Knowledge of VBA, PowerApps, or Power BI is a plus.
