Head of Marketing, China
Position Summary
We are seeking a visionary and results-driven Head of Marketing to lead our entire marketing function. In this strategic leadership role, you will be responsible for developing and executing the company's brand vision, driving category growth, and building a high-performance marketing team. You will leverage deep consumer insights and data-driven strategies to enhance brand equity, accelerate market share, and deliver exceptional ROI across all marketing initiatives, ultimately contributing to the company's overall commercial success.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership & Planning:
- Develop and implement the overarching marketing and brand strategy aligned with the company's long-term business objectives.
- Lead the annual marketing planning, budgeting, and forecasting process, ensuring optimal allocation and rigorous financial stewardship.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of market trends, competitive landscape, and consumer behavior to identify new opportunities and inform business strategy.
- Brand Building & Management:
- Own the brand positioning, architecture, and equity for the company's portfolio of products.
- Conceptualize and lead 360° integrated marketing campaigns (ATL, BTL, Digital) that build brand love and drive penetration.
- Safeguard brand reputation and lead crisis communication planning and management.
- Product Marketing & Go to Market Strategy
- New product lunch management including product positioning, messaging, and value propositions based on market research.
- Develop and execute go-to-market strategies for new product launches.
- Digital Transformation & Performance Marketing:
- Architect the omni-channel consumer journey, leveraging data and technology to create seamless experiences.
- Drive digital marketing strategy encompassing social media, content marketing, SEO/SEM, e-commerce platform marketing, and influencer/KOL partnerships.
- Spearhead innovative, performance-driven marketing initiatives on key e-commerce and new retail platforms (e.g., Tmall, JD, Douyin, Pinduoduo) to achieve brand and sales objectives.
- Consumer Centricity & Innovation:
- Champion a deep understanding of the consumer. Translate market research and consumer insights into actionable business and innovation plans.
- Partner closely with R&D and Sales to lead the end-to-end marketing process for new product development (NPD), from concept to successful commercialization and launch.
- Team Leadership & Development:
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-caliber marketing team across brand, digital, trade marketing, and insights functions.
- Foster a culture of excellence, accountability, innovation, and continuous learning.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate effectively with Sales, Supply Chain, Finance, and R&D leadership to ensure flawless execution of business plans and alignment of goals.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field; an MBA is preferred.
- Minimum of 10-12 years of progressive marketing experience within the FMCG/CPG industry, with at least 3-5 years in a marketing leadership role (e.g., Marketing Manager/Lead).
- Proven track record of building iconic brands and delivering sustained market share and profit growth.
