Legal Counsel

Grade: 5

Education:

• LLB degree from a recognized local or foreign university
• LLM degree in Corporate Law will be an added advantage

Experience:

• 6-7 years of relevant experience
• Must have a minimum 3 years of experience in working an in-house counsel
• Experience of working in-house in FMCG sector (Multinational or large local company) will be an added advantage

Responsibilities: 

• Independently draft contracts and take lead for finalization of commercial agreements.
• Manage assigned litigation cases and closely monitor progress of legal proceedings to minimise risk of adverse outcome.
• Attend court hearings of assigned cases to assess performance of outside counsel
• Act as a legal business partner whilst ensuring cross-functional collaboration with the company on a broad range of contractual and legal matters.
• Maintain strict compliance with corporate regulations, preparing board and members minutes, and maintaining accurate corporate governance records.
• Provide legal advice with risk assessment on a wide variety of subject areas related but not limited to commercial, Intellectual Property, HR, IR, competition law and data privacy.
