ekaterra, the global tea company, has decided to cease business in Russia due to the current operating environment.

Rotterdam, 1 August 2022 – ekaterra, the global tea company, has decided to cease business in Russia due to the current operating environment.

This means that ekaterra aims to stop the production of Lipton, Saito and Brooke Bond tea brands in Russia by the end of 2022, with sales ending shortly thereafter.

In accordance with the labour legislation of the Russian Federation, all obligations to employees will be fulfilled.

This decision follows ekaterra’s establishment as an independent business on July 1, 2022.

- Since January 2023, we have been changing our corporate name from ekaterra to LIPTON Teas and Infusions. The name change of our legal entities to LIPTON Teas and Infusions is taking place progressively after the complete separation from Unilever during the course of 2023.

- LIPTON Teas and Infusions comprises 36 brands of teas and infusions across 100+ countries worldwide.

- Our business excludes the tea operations in India, Indonesia and Nepal retained by Unilever and the Pepsi Lipton ready-to-drink beverages remaining an independent joint venture between Unilever and PepsiCo.
