LIPTON Teas and Infusions publishes first sustainability report

Amsterdam, 31 July 2024 – LIPTON Teas and Infusions, the world’s largest tea group, has released its inaugural sustainability report. This provides a comprehensive review of the company’s first full year as an independent business and sets out its intention to lead industry-wide global progress in sustainability by unlocking the true value of tea within a generation.

This 2023 report is structured around the three pillars of LIPTON Teas and Infusions’ sustainability strategy: health & well-being, social, and environmental impacts. Each pillar is backed by detailed plans covering both long- and short-term actions as well as an ambition for 2040 that serves as the guiding framework for the company’s sustainability goals.

Progress on all three pillars will be driven by LIPTON Teas and Infusions’ emerging approach to responsible sourcing and enabled by deep partnerships with farmers and widespread training and skills development. This strategy is central to the company’s purpose of creating value for all.

Gareth Mead, Chief Communications & Sustainability Officer of LIPTON Teas and Infusions, said: “Our commercial and sustainability agendas are inseparable because there is no business success in a world that fails. The extensive action already showcased in this report has only been possible because of the incredible company-wide culture of shared responsibility for sustainability that infuses everyone at LIPTON Teas and Infusions. This passion to drive progress for people and the planet will make sure we are creating value for all.”
