Our company culture, enshrined in our Code of Business Principles, celebrates human dignity and mutual trust. We consider it every company’s duty to uphold human rights in the workplace and beyond. It follows that we promote equal opportunity, as well as freedom from discrimination, abuse and unfair treatment.
Occupational health and safety are top priorities, the object of a robust management and reporting system. We take all necessary measures to minimize risks, including appropriate training and clear work procedures. In geographies where access to public healthcare can be an issue, LIPTON Teas and Infusions has developed schemes to ensure full coverage of employees and their dependents.

In Kenya, Rwanda and Tanzania, we run 15 dispensaries, five medical centers and two hospitals. Young mothers are assigned work close to home and receive flexible breaks according to their breastfeeding schedules. In our primary schools, our Kings and Queens Clubs help raise awareness of children’s rights and child protection.
For our herbals, whether we buy ourselves directly or work with partners who purchase on our behalf, we conduct internal supplier audits to ensure good working conditions and fair compensation within our supply chain. Where possible, we place the emphasis on supporting small producers through price premiums and long-term commitments.
