Job Purpose
The purpose of this role is to manage production team in production line, area or module. Additionally, this member needs to communicate, facilitate, co-ordinate, and prioritize all operational activities within their area effectively and efficiently. The member will also be responsible for the team’s engagement and development as well as be responsible for the area KPIs within the shift time. Lastly, the responsibility to coordinate the shift activities within the shift time, that includes and not limited to ERP/SAP reporting, Line performance, Wastages, FMOS, Emergency Response Team and line Scheduling will fall under this member’s scope.
Role Dimensions
Job holder will be managing a production line that covers to following dimensions:
- Indirect management of a team of (40 – 45) production operator
- One production area within the factory
- KPIs: Safety, Quality, OEE, Productivity, Wastages
- Manpower Deployment and material Flow
- Coordination of shift activities
- Second point of escalation
- FMOS
Tasks in Scope
- Understand the MMP Code – Manufacturing
- Understand the end-to-end operation process in the factory by ensuring safety and quality standards are followed.
- Providing the necessary support to the line manager and carrying out any other tasks assigned.
- Get accurate reports on RTPM by coaching the shopfloor team (empower, coach) – allocate losses under the correct bucket. (KPIs reporting in system)
- Drive improvement on a specific line/section based on the top losses identified (KPI improvement projects)
Responsibilities
- Enforce safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all team members.
- Lead the emergency response team, investigate, and report any accidents or incidents and implement preventive measures.
- Ensure products meet quality standards by conducting regular quality checks during production and address any quality issues promptly and work with the other teams to implement corrective actions.
- Lead the manufacturing team by providing clear instructions and support.
- Offer continuous coaching and feedback to team members to enhance their skills and performance.
- Manage the factory operations – run strategy, material coverage management.
- Ensure that production schedules are met by coordinating tasks and resources effectively.
- Identify and resolve any production-related issues or bottlenecks that may arise during the shift.
- Manage and improve deployment of resources, people budgets and assets, to comply with cost and financial targets.
- SAP operations
- Coordinate with maintenance team to ensure that all production equipment is in proper working condition.
- Report any equipment malfunctions and collaborate with the maintenance team to resolve issues promptly.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency enhancement on the production floor.
- Collaborate with other departments to implement improvement initiatives.
- Maintain open and effective communication channels with production team members, fellow team leaders, and management.
- Maintain accurate production records, including production quantities, downtime, and quality control data.
- Generate reports on production performance and provide insights to the management team.
- Share daily relevant updates, changes in procedures, and production goals with the team.
Experience
- Excellent standards of numeracy and literacy
- A strong communicator with a demonstrated ability to relate to people at all levels from a variety of backgrounds and to confront difficult and challenging situations as required.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in manufacturing with an understanding of principles of Lean Manufacturing and basic technical skills.
