Job Title: R&I Product Technologist

Work Location: Cairo, Egypt

Travel required: Domestic only 20% of time

Your Role:

An expert in Product design, who ensures timely and outstanding results in blend design. Responsible for the product design of Egypt & Export markets within PAMET region.

• Lead the technical delivery of innovation and improvement projects in full, which includes the following aspects: creative product concepts; formulation design, laboratory scale prototypes; costs; quality assessments; ingredient lists, legislation compliance and claims
• Translate development briefs into consumer-centric formulations that align with market preferences and commercial requirements (e.g., gross margin targets).
• Develop products with exceptional organoleptic profiles to delight consumers and differentiate brands.
• Ensure formulations meet sustainability criteria for blends while maintaining cost and quality standards.
• Organize and lead tasting sessions with R&I teams and cross-functional partners to validate product concepts.
• Create and maintain high-quality product specifications, ensuring compliance with 5S standards where applicable.
• Build and manage a technical database documenting product briefs, test results, and formulation best practices.
• Lead technical and organoleptic investigations to resolve quality challenges.
• Guide project teams on best-practice formulation strategies based on development briefs.
• Collaborate with global/regional teams to execute projects that balance innovation with local business needs.
• Develop KBS assets (demos, training kits, scientific content) to support sales and marketing.
• Train commercial teams on product science and the innovation philosophy behind blend creation.

• Experienced professional with track record in product formulation and development, including quality assessments and delivery of improvement initiatives for superiority
• Good understanding and interest in different tea products development needs (including black tea, instant powders, F&H, Green tea) in different markets
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in Product Development
• Multiple functional team collaboration skill
• Able to work effectively in multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural teams
• Flexibility in work style to be able to manage several projects simultaneously
• Understand risks and manage & mitigate those as appropriate
