LIPTON Teas and Infusions publishes 2024 sustainability report
Amsterdam, 10 June 2025 – LIPTON Teas and Infusions, the world’s largest tea group, has released its 2024 sustainability report, the first update since its inaugural report a year ago.
The new report provides a comprehensive review of the company’s progress against its strategic ambition to unlock the true value of tea within a generation. It includes updates on each of the three pillars of LIPTON Teas and Infusions’ sustainability strategy – driving positive health & well-being, social, and environmental impacts – and how these are enabled by industry partnerships and training and skills development.
Highlights for 2024 include:
- Achieving Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi) validation for our climate targets
- Partnering in research on climate-smart fertilisers with Cranfield University
- Playing a leading role in the industry’s first living wage pilot
- Launching the Lipton Tea Innovation & Technology Academy and its first courses
- Advocating to support consumer health and working to reduce contaminants
Gareth Mead, Chief Communications & Sustainability Officer of LIPTON Teas and Infusions, said: “Much has changed since our first report, both for us and in the wider world. Our sustainability strategy remains true however, underscoring its robustness and suitability for our industry’s complex challenges. The work we are doing in 2025 will provide a robust and impartial analysis to help validate or challenge our assumptions. As always, sustainability is a company-wide endeavour. Our progress is only possible thanks to everyone at LIPTON Teas and Infusions and their dedication to creating value for all such that there will be a tea for everyone far into the future.”
